Inspired by a choir of Texas schoolgirls’ electrifying performance of Katerina Gimon’s “Fire” movement from Elements, Spotlight Founder and Executive Director Cindy Sadler imagined a collaborative performance built around the theme of contemporary womanhood. Woman combines classical, gospel, and popular works for treble choir with opera arias and art songs collectively chosen by the cast to share their own stories from a variety of viewpoints.
Coverini will be a featured soloist in Alexandra Olsavsky’s “What happens when a woman takes power.” She will also be performing ‘What good would the moon be?’ from Kurt Weill’s Street Scene.
Tickets start at $15 and can be found at https://spotlightonopera.com/tickets or get them at the door
The performance will be held in the Anderson Auditorium at Centenary College (Shreveport, Louisiana) on June 24th at 7:30pm following Spotlight’s production of Suor Angelica.
